This explains what personal data Addsum collects through addsum.in and through our work as a digital marketing agency, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are
Addsum (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a digital marketing agency based in Palakkad, Kerala, India, offering SEO, social media marketing, Google Ads management, web design, content marketing and marketing strategy services.
This policy explains how we handle personal data belonging to visitors of addsum.in, people who contact us, and our clients. Where we manage advertising or messaging on behalf of a client, we may also process that client’s audience data strictly on their instructions — this is addressed separately in here

Scope of this policy
This policy applies to addsum.in, to any enquiry you make with us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp, and to the services we provide once you become a client.
It does not apply to: (a) third-party websites or platforms we link to, including the social media pages of our clients; or (b) the websites or apps our clients run for their own end customers, which are governed by that client’s own privacy policy
Information we collect
1 Information you give us directly
- Name, email address, phone number, business name and project details submitted through our contact form, WhatsApp Business chat, email or phone calls.
- Billing and invoicing details, once you engage us as a client.
- Any content, brand assets, or account access you share with us so we can deliver a service (for example, granting access to a Google Ads or Meta Business account).
2 Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time on page, and referring website.
- Approximate location at city or region level, inferred from your IP address.
- This is collected through cookies and similar technologies — see here for the specific tools we use.
3 Information from third parties
If you’re referred to us, or you click through to us from an ad we run on Meta or Google, those platforms may share limited interaction data — for example, that an ad was clicked — as part of their standard advertising reporting.
4 Client campaign data
Where we run advertising, social media or WhatsApp Business communication for a client, we may process that client’s own customer or audience data, strictly under that client’s instructions and for the purposes they define. In that relationship, the client is the data fiduciary and we act as their processor — this is normally documented separately in our client agreement. We don’t use this data for our own marketing or for any other client.
How we use your information
We use personal data to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare proposals or quotes;
- deliver and improve the services you’ve engaged us for;
- manage billing, invoicing and our client relationship;
- send service updates, performance reports and, where you’ve agreed, marketing communications about Addsum;
- measure and improve our own website and advertising performance;
- meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations; and
- detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our services.
Where required, we rely on your consent as the basis for processing; otherwise we rely on what’s reasonably necessary to provide a service you’ve asked for, or to meet a legal obligation.

How we share your information
We share personal data only where it’s needed to run our business or deliver your service, and only with:
- our website hosting provider;
- email, CRM and accounting tools we use to manage enquiries, clients and invoices;
- Google and Meta, when we run or measure advertising campaigns;
- the WhatsApp Business Platform, if you message us on WhatsApp;
- our accountants or legal advisors, where necessary; and
- government authorities or regulators, where required by law.
We do not sell personal data, and we don’t share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Storage & security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted (SSL/TLS) connections to our website, access controls that limit who within Addsum can view your data, and regular backups.
We retain enquiry data for as long as it’s relevant to a potential engagement, and client data for the duration of our relationship plus any period required by applicable tax and accounting law. You can ask us to delete data earlier, subject to any legal retention requirements — see here
Cross-border data transfer
Some of the tools we rely on — including Google, Meta and our email service provider — may process data on servers located outside India. Where this happens, we depend on the safeguards those providers maintain, and we comply with the cross-border transfer conditions under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as and when those provisions take effect.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law, you have the right to:
Access
Ask what personal data we hold about you, and how it’s being used.
Correction
Ask us to correct any data that’s inaccurate or out of date.
Erasure
Ask us to delete data we no longer need to retain.
Withdraw consent
Withdraw any consent you’ve given us, as easily as you gave it.
Nominate
Name another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf, in the event of your death or incapacity.
Grievance redressal
Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

Children's privacy
Our services and website are intended for businesses and individuals aged 18 and above. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we’ve done so inadvertently, we’ll delete it promptly.
Marketing communications & opt-out
With your consent, we may send updates about our services by email or WhatsApp. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying “STOP” to a WhatsApp message, or emailing us directly — opting out won’t affect any service you’ve already engaged us for.
Third-party links
Our website and the campaigns we run may link to third-party sites, including social media platforms and client websites. We aren’t responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — please review their policies separately.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Where a change is material, we’ll highlight it on our website or contact you directly.

Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes relating to it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Palakkad, Kerala.
