Refund & Cancellation Policy
This explains how cancellations, refunds, and early terminations are handled for Addsum’s digital marketing and related services.
- Fees for work already done are non-refundable — once time, strategy, or creative effort is spent, it can’t be returned.
- Monthly retainers require 30 days’ written notice to cancel — you aren’t locked in forever, but we need time to wind down responsibly.
- Ad spend is never refunded by Addsum — those funds go directly to Google, Meta, or other platforms.
- If we fall short of what we promised, raise it with us — we’ll work to make it right before any refund conversation.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to all paid services offered by Addsum, including monthly retainers, one-time project engagements, and ad management services. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions, and where a signed proposal or Scope of Work contains specific terms on payment or cancellation, those terms take precedence over this policy.
Here’s how our refund and cancellation position differs across service types:
Monthly Retainers
30 days' notice Cancel anytime with written notice. Work billed for the notice period is non-refundable.
One-time Projects
Work done = billed Completed milestones are non-refundable. Unused advance may be refunded at Addsum's discretion.
Ad Spend
Non-refundable Money spent on Google, Meta or other platforms is governed by those platforms — not by Addsum.
Cancellation — monthly retainers
Either party may cancel an ongoing monthly retainer by giving 30 days’ written notice by email. During the notice period, Services continue and the corresponding fees remain payable. Once the notice period ends:
- Addsum will hand over all completed Deliverables in its possession.
- Access to your accounts (Google Ads, Meta, website, etc.) will be revoked within a reasonable time.
- No further charges are raised after the notice period closes.
Cancellations are effective from the date the written notice is received by Addsum, not the date it’s sent.
Cancellation — one-time projects
For project-based work (web design, one-time audits, campaign setup, etc.), cancellation is possible before work begins. Once a milestone is started or completed, the fee for that milestone is non-refundable. The following applies on cancellation mid-project:
- Before work begins
- After work has startedFees corresponding to completed milestones or work already delivered are non-refundable. Any remaining unused balance from an advance may be refunded at Addsum’s discretion.
- After project completionNo refund is available once a project has been fully delivered and signed off, even if you choose not to use the Deliverables.
Refund eligibility
Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. The scenarios below set out our general approach:
Eligible for refund
Addsum is unable to begin or deliver the agreed service If we're unable to start or complete the Services due to reasons entirely within our control, a proportionate refund of fees paid for the undelivered portion will be offered.
Assessed case by case
Service quality concern raised in writing If you believe the quality of work delivered falls short of what was agreed, raise it with us in writing within 7 days of delivery. We will first attempt to remedy the issue. A partial refund may be considered only if the concern can't be resolved to a reasonable standard.
Not eligible for refund
Change of mind after work has started Fees for work already performed — including strategy, planning, design, writing, and live campaign management — are non-refundable if you simply change direction or no longer need the service.
Not eligible for refund
Dissatisfaction with marketing outcomes Marketing results — including rankings, traffic, follower growth, and ad performance — depend on factors outside Addsum's control. Dissatisfaction with results alone does not entitle you to a refund. See § 9 of our Terms & Conditions for our no-guarantee position.
Not eligible for refund
Ad spend on third-party platforms Money transferred to Google, Meta, or any other advertising platform is spent directly by those platforms and is governed by their own refund policies. Addsum has no ability to retrieve or refund these amounts.
Not eligible for refund
Client delays caused the issue If delays in delivery, missed deadlines, or unsatisfactory outcomes resulted from missing client approvals, delayed assets, or withheld account access, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Ad spend & third-party costs
Advertising budgets paid to Google, Meta, or other platforms are disbursed directly to those platforms and are not held or managed as funds by Addsum. Refunds, credits, or adjustments for ad spend are subject entirely to each platform’s own policies — Addsum cannot issue refunds for these amounts under any circumstance.
Similarly, third-party costs passed through to you — such as domain registration, hosting fees, or premium plugin licences — are subject to those vendors’ refund terms, not ours.
How to request a refund or raise a concern
All refund requests and service quality concerns must be submitted in writing to mail@addsum.in with the subject line “Refund Request — [your business name]”. Please include:
- your name and business name;
- the service or invoice the request relates to;
- a clear description of the issue or reason for the request; and
- any supporting documents or screenshots, if relevant.
We’ll acknowledge your request within 3 business days and provide a full response within 15 business days.
Refund processing
Where a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original payment method used. Processing timelines depend on your bank or payment provider, but we aim to initiate the transfer within 7 business days of approval. Addsum isn’t responsible for delays caused by financial institutions.
Termination by Addsum
Addsum reserves the right to terminate or suspend a service engagement where:
- payment is overdue by more than 15 days;
- you are in material breach of our Terms & Conditions; or
- continuing the engagement would require Addsum to violate applicable laws or platform policies.
In such cases, fees for work already performed up to the termination date remain payable, and no refund is due for amounts already invoiced and outstanding.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here reflects the one currently in effect. For engagements already underway, the version of this policy in effect at the time of your proposal or SOW applies unless we agree otherwise in writing.
